12 Wealth and honor come from you; you are the ruler of all things. In your hands are strength and power to exalt and give strength to all. 13 Now, our God, we give you thanks, and praise your glorious name.

1 Chronicles 29:12-13 (NIV)

My beloved cousin, Elda, shared on social media a video of a young man who sought to raise awareness among viewers about appreciating what we have and complaining less. While watching the video, I began to think about the blessings I received during this year 2025.

As the end of the year approaches, we evaluate which goals we achieved and which we did not. At some point of the assessment, we can get discouraged by the unfinished goals and forget about the progress we’ve made throughout the year.

This post will be different. Each one of us will have a task to complete at the end of it — but don’t worry, it isn't math homework or anything like that 😆. I believe it'll fill your heart and give you the encouragement you need to finish strong this year. Let’s begin!

God, We Thank You For…

A year consists of fifty-two weeks. That's fifty-two opportunities to be grateful! Before the year ends, I invite you to set aside some time to meditate on the reasons why you’re grateful to God for this year.

Our assignment is divided into two parts. The first part is already complete! In the list below, you’ll see twenty-six reasons why we should all be thankful to God for this year. I know you must be wondering, “Aren't there fifty-two reasons? Where are the rest?” Friend, this is where you come in!

The second part of the exercise will be completed by you. Your task will be to finish the list by adding YOUR twenty-six reasons why you thank God for this year. This way, you’ll end up with fifty-two reasons, one for each week of the year, with which you’ll remember how God has shown His love, mercy, kindness, and faithfulness in your life.

First Twenty-Six Reasons to Thank God for the Year 2025

Let’s give thanks to the Lord, all His faithful…😃

  1. For another year to grow in faith.

  2. For the opportunity to celebrate the lives of family, friends, and ourselves.

  3. For His comfort in difficult times.

  4. For projects completed and goals achieved.

  5. For the small decisions that made all the difference between progress and stagnation.

  6. For the time spent in prayer and reading the Bible.

  7. For the blessing of having a job.

  8. For the courage to change attitudes and thoughts that prevent us from living an abundant life.

  9. For the opportunity to forgive.

  10. For the blessing of being able to interact better with other people.

  11. For moments of service to others.

  12. For the decision to develop better mental, physical, and emotional health.

  13. For the crying that helped release internal burdens so we could move on.

  14. For nature.

  15. For exercising (e.g., walking, running, stretching, etc.).

  16. For the opportunity to experience new things and discover new places.

  17. For the five senses (taste, hearing, smell, touch, and sight).

  18. For the opportunity to learn new things.

  19. For the people with whom we shared our faith.

  20. For the things that have been created to make life easier (e.g., transportation, technology, medical treatments, etc.).

  21. For mentors in various areas of life.

  22. For the decision to follow Christ for another year.

  23. For the blessing of being encouraged by another person and for the opportunity to encourage others.

  24. For identifying new talents, skills, and personal interests.

  25. For the opportunity to love.

  26. For those who are no longer physically with us but are with God, and whom we remember with joy and gratitude.

  27. Now it’s your turn! (Continue the list by adding your reasons on the document below👇😃)

Final Words
