Seeing God as a Father

I did not comprehend what it meant to see God as a father until my husband and I moved from Puerto Rico to the United States. Everything was new, uncertain, and challenging. The fact of speaking in a different language, finding a new home and church, booking doctors’ appointments, making new friends, and adjusting to a new work environment was difficult.
In order to handle all the changes, I asked God for His help. And He, like a good father, started to guide and sustain us in every step of the new journey.
He provided us with everything we needed. He demonstrated His company every day by giving us the courage to speak in a different language and interact with new people. He put amazing individuals everywhere we went to help us get familiar with the local culture. He comforted us when we were afraid or missed our family. He gave us the mental and physical strength to get used to weather we had never experienced before. He encouraged us through the Bible to not give up and assured us He would take care of us. That is what a father does! A father listens, guides, comforts, protects, provides, loves, helps, and takes care of his children. No matter where you live, work, or what country you move to, a father will always look after you. God does the above and much more!
Final Words
Today, I have something special for you. 🤗 I am so grateful to have experienced God as a father that I want the same for you. Below you will find four characteristics, supported by the Bible, that represent God as the best father you can have. Read them, write them down, and place them somewhere where you can see them to remind yourself of how wonderful your heavenly Father is.
🌟 Reliable. God is trustworthy.
James 1:17: “Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.”
🌟 Provider. He makes available anything we need physically, spiritually, emotionally, and mentally.
Matthew 6:9-13: 9 “This, then, is how you should pray: “‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, 10 your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. 11 Give us today our daily bread. 12 And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. 13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.’
🌟 Helper. He makes our life easier in moments of need.
Matthew 10:29-31: “29 Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Father’s care. 30 And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. 31 So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.
🌟 Wise. He is counseling, advising, and guiding us through His words in the Bible.
Psalm 119:105:”Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.”
