What is Repentance?
Repentance is the response to turn away from sin. It's the regret we feel when we acknowledge we've acted, thought, or spoken contrary to what God has established as the best way to live.
Essential to the Word
Repentance leads us to change. When we repent, we're redirecting our lives to God. This is possible because the Holy Spirit convinces us of our sin and helps us act in a better way (John 16:7-8).
