What Is Christianity?
Christianity is a religion and lifestyle. It’s considered a religion because it has an organized system of beliefs, attitudes, and practices. It’s a lifestyle because those who consider themselves to be Christians, live their life applying the teachings of Jesus Christ.
Essential to the Word
Christianity is derived from the person of Jesus Christ. It has the Bible as its sacred scripture. The Christian religion has three major groups: the Roman Catholic Church, the Eastern Orthodox Church, and the Protestant Church (Baptists, Lutherans, Methodists, etc.)
The Bible on Christianity
The term Christianity doesn't appear in the Bible. However, the Bible does mention the word Christian and what it means to be one.
Acts 11:26
Acts 26:24-29
1 Peter 4:12-16
